Fishing
Doe Lake known as one of the better walleye lakes in the Muskoka's. Every year fish in the 4 to 8lbs class are caught with the occasional fish over 10lbs. Pike grow big on the abundance of bait fish with fish up to 30lbs. There are lots of other species small mouth bass, perch, whitefish, herring, cat fish and ling. Come and spend a week or weekend in one of our newly renovated cottages. You can fish from the dock, rent a boat, or bring your own boat, we have lots of docking space and a fish cleaning station to clean the days catch.
ATVing
Only 10 min ride to the Park to Park Sequin Trail with many km of trails and even more logging and unmarked trails on 1,000's of acres on crown land. A newly formed ATV club Algonquin West is actively mapping & marking new trails in the area, Algonquin West is an associate member of the Haliburton ATV club, which has 1,700 km of mapped, signed and insured trails (see www.haliburtonatv.com). Trail passes available right at Dayspring Cottages.
Golfing
Katrine has a 9 hole course just 5 min away or you can play at one or more of the great courses in Huntsville, Sundridge, Port Sydney, Bracebridge.
Hiking
Only 20 minutes to Arrowhead provincial park. 30 minutes to Algonquin provincial park. 10 minutes to Burks Falls River walk, or 10 minutes to park to park sequin trail. Fall colours' From mid September to Thanksgiving - enjoy the incredible colour changes with our mixed forests of hardwood, softwood and coniferous trees giving a breathtaking variety of yellow, orange, red, and green. Go for a walk on our many local trails, sit on your deck and just look at the colours reflect off the lake. Go for a boat ride around our 3 lakes - canoe or boat along the Magnetawan river just minutes from our docks. This is a great time of the year it is quite, no crowds, no bugs, warm days and cool nights.
R&R
If none of the above is what you are looking for, why not just get away to rest, unwind and do nothing. You can sit on your deck have a B.B.Q. At night when the skies come alive with billions of stars you can sit around the camp fire roast marshmallows and hot dogs. This is the living and it's good for the soul. Hope to see you soon....
